Memory Tapes is a recording alias of New Jersey-based Dayve Hawk, former frontman of Philadelphia-based Hail Social. After initially releasing material under the names Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes., and on signing to Something In Construction to release a Memory Cassette EP (also on Acephale), Memory Tapes' first LP, Seek Magic was released in September 2009, through the labels Something In Construction, Sincerely Yours, Acéphale. It was self released in the US. When Bicycle debuted on the internet it went up to 1,000,000 Google hits within 24 hrs. Seek Magic sold over 1000 copies on pre-release via one shop in London (Rough Trade) and has since sold over 30,000 copies. The CD release of "Seek Magic" came bundled with a 4 track Bonus Disc including a Horrors remix and a 22-minute instrumental, "Treeship", which could also be downloaded from his website for free.
His second album is due for release in the summer 2011 via Something In Construction (Europe), Carpark (US) and Inertia (Australia). He is quoted as saying it will be "psychedelic girl group music". The first track from these sessions, Today Is Our Life, was featured on a large number of blogs earlier in 2011.

Beirut - Guyamas Sonora

Beirut is an American band which was originally the solo musical project of Santa Fe, New Mexico native Zachary Francis Condon, and later expanded into a band. Their first performances were in New York in May 2006, to support the release of their debut album, Gulag Orkestar. The music combines elements of Eastern European and Balkan folk with Western pop music, fusing the American mainstream and indie-rock culture and the World Music market.
In early June 2011, amidst touring the US, Beirut announced that their newest album, The Rip Tide, which had been recorded the previous winter in New York, was to be released on August 30.

Fuzzy Lights - Blackout II

Formed in 2004 as an improvising duo, Fuzzy Lights are now a five piece band. Combining folk purity with psychedelic guitar noise, their reverb-soaked music found a dedicated following with the late-2008 release of their debut album 'A Distant Voice'.
After touring in the first half of 2009, they released an EP, 'Helm', written and recorded in 4 days in a barn in the heart of the Lake District.
They returned last August with their highly-anticipated second album 'Twin Feathers' –which received 4 out of 5 reviews in Mojo('Underground Album of the Month'), Uncut and Artrocker and featured across 6Music shows (Guy Garvey, Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson & Tom Ravenscroft).

Her Space Holiday is Marc Bianchi, a musician with roots in the California emo scene. During the early 90′s, he was part of the highly influential emo band Indian Summer. Marc began recording under the moniker Her Space Holiday in 1996. It started as a simple affair: just a four track, a couple of cheap microphones, a beat up drum set, a guitar, and the desire to make music on his own. The Raveonettes - Heart of Stone

The Raveonettes are a Danish indie rock duo, consisting of Sune Rose Wagner (born 1973, Sønderborg, Denmark) on guitar, instruments, and vocals, and Sharin Foo (born 12 December 1979, Emmelev, Denmark) on bass, guitar and vocals. Their music is characterized by close two-part vocal harmonies inspired by The Everly Brothers coupled with hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise, very similar to The Jesus and Mary Chain. Gemma Hayes - PLL Brittle Winter

Gemma Hayes' much anticipated fourth studio album, Let it Break, will be released on 27th May and is an evolution of Gemma's unique style of music, combining prog rock, folk and electronica. The album is a collaboration with producer David Odlum, and features Paul Noonan of Bell X1 and Ann Scott. Shock To The System is the first single to be taken from the album Over the years, Gemma's songs have appeared in countless TV programmes and films from Grey's Anatomy to One Tree Hill and most recently The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming Abigail Breslin movie, Janie Jones. Florence and the Machine (stylised as Florence + the Machine) is the recording name of English musician Florence Welch and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music for her voice. Brian Eno - Pour It Out

Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (born 15 May 1948), commonly shortened to Brian Eno and previously to simply Eno (play /ˈiːnoʊ/), is an English musician, composer, record producer, music theorist, singer and visual artist, known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music.
Eno studied at art school, taking inspiration from minimalist painting, but he had little musical education or playing experience when he joined the band Roxy Music as their keyboards and synthesizers player in the early 1970s. Roxy Music's success in the glam rock scene came quickly, but Eno soon tired of conflicts with lead singer Bryan Ferry, and of touring, and he left the group after the release of For Your Pleasure (1973), beginning his solo career with the art rock records Here Come the Warm Jets (1974) and Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) (1974).
Eno's solo work has been extremely influential, pioneering ambient and generative music, innovating production techniques, and emphasizing "theory over practice".

Patrick utilises a wide variety of instruments in his music, most commonly the ukulele, piano and viola. Known for combining electronic sampling with classical instruments, Wolf's styles range from romantic folk to techno-pop.
Patrick Wolf was born in St Thomas' Hospital, South London, into a creative family. He started his musical education with violin lessons and church choirs and made his first theremin at age eleven, and first began recording songs with his violin, voice, and car boot sale organs on a four-track tape recorder at age twelve. At fourteen, he joined and performed with pop art collective Minty. Two years later, he dropped his music A-Levels, which he was studying at Davies Laing and Dick Sixth Form College off Bond Street, and left home. During this period, as well as working in Super Lovers clothing store in Covent Garden, Wolf earned money from busking in a string quartet and formed a group called 'Maison Crimineaux', a noisy trio built on destructive ethics around white noise and pop music. He also continued to write and record his own material. A Maison Crimineaux gig in Paris was attended by electronic maestro Kristian Robinson (aka Capitol K), who would then go on to release Wolf's debut album Lycanthropy.
On 6 April 2011, Wolf announced via his website, that the release date for Lupercalia is now 20 June 2011 worldwide (excluding USA).

Destroyer - Chinatown

Destroyer is a Canadian indie rock band fronted by singer-songwriter Dan Bejar.
Daniel Bejar is an independent singer-songwriter from Vancouver who formed Destroyer in 1995. He self-produced his first album, the lo-fi We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge, which was recorded at his in home studio in Vancouver. As Bejar gained popularity within the Vancouver music scene, he was joined by John Collins on City of Daughters and Destroyer formally became a band. In 2000, the band broke up and Bejar took an extended vacation in Spain.
Following his brief break from Destroyer, he returned to Vancouver to release Thief in 2000. Interpreted by many critics as an indictment of the music industry, this album brought Destroyer significant recognition.
Following Thief's release, Bejar put more focus into his music, beginning his music contributions to The New Pornographers. After the 2001 release of Streethawk: A Seduction on Misra Records, Destroyer picked up something of a cult following. Having the band Frog Eyes play back-up for several shows inspired Notorious Lightning & Other Works, a reworking of six tracks from the previous album Your Blues with Frog Eyes once again as back-up.
Destroyer continued its sonic development with 2006's Destroyer's Rubies, 2008's Trouble in Dreams, the 2009 EP Bay of Pigs, and 2011's full-length Kaputt.

Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - Black - starring Norah Jones

Brian Joseph Burton (born July 29, 1977), better known by his stage name Danger Mouse, is an American musician, songwriter and producer. He came to prominence in 2004 when he released The Grey Album, which combined vocal performances from Jay-Z's The Black Album with instrumentals from The Beatles' White Album.
Danger Mouse was listed as one of Esquire magazine's seventy-five most influential people of the 21st century. In 2010 he began producing an album for U2.
Since 2005, Danger Mouse has been composing a spaghetti western album with composer Daniele Luppi. Jack White and Norah Jones do the main vocals on the album. Instrumentation was done mainly by musicians who played on the original Ennio Morricone scores. Danger Mouse does not play any instruments on the album. The style of the album reflects much of Danger Mouse's work since 2005, such as segments of Beck's "Modern Guilt", aspects of "Dark Night of the Soul", and songs like "Mongrel Heart" off of the self-titled Broken Bells album. The album is titled Rome and was released on May 16, 2011.

APPLAUSE - THE LIGHTHOUSE

They appeared from out of nowhere, yet within a year Applause have managed to carve out a niche for themselves on the Parisian scene. Their first EP, including the impeccable single Lighthouse, was a frequent feature on the airwaves and created some ripples in the music press. The Franco-Belgian group, who are based in Brussels but formed in Paris, have hit on a winning combination, with a superb lead voice that some liken to Jeff Buckley, resplendent compositions that sit between white soul and hot rock, and a sprinkling of mystery. The group’s French singer Nicolas looks back: "The group started in 2006 after a concert by Néry (Ed’s note: former singer with Les VRP) at La Maroquinerie. Portishead - Mysterons

Portishead are an English musical group from Bristol. The band is named after the nearby town of the same name, 13 km (8 mi) west of Bristol. Portishead consists of Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley, while sometimes citing a fourth member, Dave McDonald, an engineer on Dummy and Portishead.
Portishead's first album Dummy was released in 1994. The credits of Dummy indicate that at this juncture, Portishead was a duo of Geoff Barrow and Beth Gibbons. Adrian Utley, who co-produced the album with Portishead (and who played on 9 of the tracks and co-wrote 8), became an official band member shortly after the album's release.
After their initial success, Portishead withdrew from the spotlight for three years until their self-titled second album, Portishead, was released in 1997. The album's sound differed from Dummy, characterised as "grainy and harsher."
In 1999, Portishead recorded the song "Motherless Child" with Tom Jones for his album Reload. For the next few years, the band members concentrated on solo and other pursuits.
On 2 October 2007, Portishead stated that the new album Third had been mixed and was nearly complete, and was due for release in early April 2008. The release was later pushed to 28 April. On 8 and 9 December 2007, the band curated the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Minehead, England. The festival featured their first full live sets in nearly 10 years.
Portishead is scheduled to perform at the 2011 Benicàssim Festival alongside other musical groups The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Primal Scream. They are also confirmed for Rock Werchter in Belgium, Pohoda Festival in Slovakia, Paleo Festival in Switzerland and Roskilde Festival in Denmark. On 15 July 2011 the band is scheduled to perform alongside Arcade Fire, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys in Portugal at the Super Bock Super Rock music festival.

kaisen. the opportune moment - movement II

Dov Waterman and Me Raabenstein are the two musical cohorts behind Kaisen. Both musicians are accomplished experts in their chosen musical fields, and this collaboration brings out the best in both. Me is the brains behind the Nonine record label, as well as an ambient composer, and Dov is a skilled and multifaceted musical jack of all trades specializing in the piano. The collaboration of these two musically disparate individuals is as unlikely as it is obvious. The pairing of such diverging musical minds has the potential to cause schizophrenic and unbalanced music; however, communication of the mind and soul transpired, allowing Dov and Me to work together with such harmony, thus creating an album that neither of them could have produced single-handedly.

You can´t win,Charlie Brown - melódica

You Can't Win, Charlie Brown is a Portuguese band led by Afonso Cabral and Salvador Menezes. The group formed in late 2009 and with the help of Luís Costa and David Santos released their self-titled debut EP through Optimus Discos in February of 2010. The EP features 6 home recorded songs that combine a Portuguese sense of melancholy with the British/American musical aesthetic of such artists as Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Nick Drake or Sufjan Stevens. The EP received great reviews from the local press and web circuit and the next months were dedicated to live performances where YCWCB won new fans and were able to share the stage with both local and international acts such as Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.
With two new members on board, João Gil and Tomás Sousa, the Lisbon based group is currently working on its debut album that will showcase the band's growth over the last year and their intent on proving that Charlie Brown can, indeed, win.

Interpol - Success

Interpol is an American post-punk band from New York City. Formed in 1997, the band's original line-up consisted of Paul Banks (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitar, vocals), Carlos Dengler (bass guitar, keyboards) and Greg Drudy (drums, percussion). Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Sam Fogarino. In 2010, shortly after recording finished for the band's fourth album, Dengler left to pursue personal projects.
Interpol is one of the bands associated with the New York City indie music scene, and was one of several groups that emerged out of the post-punk revival of the 2000s. The band's sound is generally a mix of staccato bass and rhythmic, harmonized guitar, with a snare heavy mix, drawing comparisons to post-punk bands such as Joy Division and The Chameleons. Aside from the lyrics, their songwriting method includes all of the band members, rather than relying on any given chief songwriter.
Interpol's debut album Turn on the Bright Lights (2002) was critically acclaimed, making it to tenth position on the NME's list of top albums in 2002[4] as well as #1 on Pitchfork Media's Top 50 Albums of 2002.[5] Subsequent records Antics (2004) and Our Love to Admire (2007) have confirmed the band's initial success and turned them into a commercial and critical success. Cults - Bad Things

Cults is an indie-pop band from Manhattan, New York. The band first drew to prominence when they posted a three song EP, Cults 7", on their Bandcamp page.
Cults began as a band in 2010 while Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin were students at New York University. They began making music in their spare time to share with their friends, including fellow band Bedhed.
The band rose to indie prominence during 2010 after releasing a three-song EP and the track "Go Outside" was named "Best New Music" by Pitchfork Media. In 2011, another track from their self-titled debut, Cults, was also named "Best New Music.".
Their self-titled debut album, Cults, was released on June 7, 2011 by Lily Allen's Columbia Records imprint In the Name Of. The album received generally positive reviews, including the aforementioned "Best New Music" tag from Pitchfork.
Also in 2011, they collaborated with the group Superhuman Happiness on a version of the track "Um Canto De Afoxé para o Bloco Do Ilê" for the Red Hot Organization's most recent charitable album "Red Hot+Rio 2." The album is a follow-up to the 1996 "Red Hot + Rio." Proceeds from the sales will be donated to raise awareness and money to fight AIDS/HIV and related health and social issues. The band have been chosen to perform at the ATP I'll Be Your Mirror festival curated by ATP & Portishead in September 2011 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

In 1995 she recorded her first solo CD Afro-sambas, accompanied by classical guitarist Paulo Bellinati, who also made the arrangements and produced the CD. It was a re-recording of the homonymous disc composed in the 1960s by Baden Powell and Vinícius de Moraes.
In 1996, recorded with Paulo Bellinati the song "Felicidade" (Happiness) by Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes for the CD Tom Jobim Songbook, by Lumiar Records.
She was nominated for the Prêmio Sharp – 1997 as Revelation singer in the category Música Popular Brasileira.
Salmaso released in 1998 her second CD, Trampolim, produced by Rodolfo Stroeter e with guest participations of Naná Vasconcelos, Toninho Ferragutti and Paulo Bellinati, among others.
In 1999 she was the winner of the second Prêmio Visa MPB – Vocal Edition, in a unanimous decision both by the jury and by popular acclaim.
In the same year she recorded her third CD, Voadeira, also produced by Rodolfo Stroeter. Guest participants in the CD were, among others, Marcos Suzano, Benjamin Taubkin, Toninho Ferragutti, Paulo Bellinati and Nailor Azevedo.

Sussan Deyhim - Orchestral Performance

Sussan Deyhim is an Iranian singer, composer and dancer.
Born in Tehran, her career began as a dancer with Iran's Pars National Ballet company. Since 1980 she has lived in the United States, where she has collaborated with many musicians, including Arto Lindsay and Richard Horowitz.
Sussan Deyhim is a composer, vocalist and performance artist who has been at the forefront of experimental music internationally for over two decades. Deyhim's music combines extended vocal techniques, digital processing, and the ancient mysticism of Middle Eastern music to create a deeply moving fusion of East and West.
Born in Tehran, Sussan Deyhim began her career dancing with Iran's Pars National Ballet company (performing weekly on Iranian national television), and then with Maurice Bjart's Ballet of the 20th Century. She moved to New York City in 1980, embarking on a multifaceted career encompassing music, theater, dance and media, and wide-ranging collaborations with leading artists from across the spectrum of contemporary art.
Deyhim has been a frequent participant at humanitarian events and benefits, including a performance at the gathering of the spiritual leaders of the world at the UN General Assembly in 2001; the first Gathering of Female Spiritual Leaders in Geneva at the United Nations; a 2004 performance for Nobel peace prize winner Shirin Ebadi's award ceremony organized by Interfaith Center; the Royal Hope Gala, Royal Albert Hall, London with Placido Domingo, The Royal Ballet and others, for medical aid to Iraqi children; and "Witness", a human rights benefit, sponsored by Peter Gabriel.

Seasick Steve - Treasures

Steven Gene Wold, commonly known as Seasick Steve, (born 1941) is an American blues musician. He plays (mostly personalized) guitars, and sings, usually about his early life doing casual work.
Wold was born in Oakland, California, USA. When he was four years old, his parents split up. His father played boogie-woogie piano and at five or six years old, Wold tried to learn but could not. At age eight, he learned to play the guitar (he later found out that it was blues) from K. C. Douglas, who worked at his grandfather's garage. Douglas wrote the song "Mercury Blues" and used to play with Tommy Johnson. Wold left home at 13 to avoid abuse at the hands of his stepfather, and lived rough and on the road in Tennessee, Mississippi and elsewhere, until 1973. He would travel long distances by hopping freight trains, looking for work as a farm labourer or in other seasonal jobs, often living as a hobo. At various times, Wold worked as a carnie, cowboy and a migrant worker.
In the 1960s, he started touring and performing with fellow blues musicians, and had friends in the music scene including Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell. Since then, he has worked, on and off, as a session musician and studio engineer. In the late 1980s, while living in Olympia, near Seattle, he worked with many indie label artists. Kurt Cobain was a friend. In the 1990s he continued to work as a recording engineer and producer, producing several releases by Modest Mouse including their 1996 debut album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. In Dutch newspaper 'The Telegraaf' of May 31 2011 Steve denies this saying (in translation): Net als iedereen zag ik hem wel eens lopen en zei dan ’hallo’. Dat maakt ons toch geen vrienden? "Just like everybody else I saw him pass by in the street and said hello to him. That doesn't make us friends". Regarding his 'friendship' with Janis Joplin: "We both lived in San Fransisco in the sixties. Period".

Gavin Friday - Lord I'm Coming

Gavin was born in Dublin and grew up in Finglas, a neighbourhood located on Dublin's Northside. He was a founding member of the post-punk group The Virgin Prunes and has recorded several solo albums and soundtracks.
In 1986, after the demise of Virgin Prunes, Gavin devoted himself to painting for a while, sharing a studio with Bono, Guggi and Charlie Whisker. This resulted in the exhibition Four Artists - Many Wednesdays (1988) at Dublin’s Hendricks Gallery. Friday, Guggi and Whisker showed paintings, while Bono opted to exhibit photos taken in Ethiopia. Gavin's part of the show was entitled I didn’t come up the Liffey in a bubble, an expression often used by Friday's father.
He has maintained a close friendship with U2's Bono since both were children, and they collaborated on the soundtrack for the Jim Sheridan film In the Name of the Father, including the title track "In the name of the father", "Billy Boola" and "You made me the thief of your heart", which was sung by Sinéad O'Connor and nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. In 2003 they wrote "Time Enough for Tears", the original theme tune for Sheridan's film In America, as sung by Andrea Corr. The song was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
On April 6, 2010 Record company Rubyworks announced they signed Gavin Friday and that a new album is on its way. The new CD is titled catholic and was released in Ireland on Good Friday: April 22, 2011.

Kurt Vile - Society is my friend

Kurt Vile is a guitarist and singer from Philadelphia. He was signed by Matador Records as a solo artist in May 2009.
His music has been likened to that of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger and Tom Petty. His first album for Matador Records is titled Childish Prodigy.
Vile released two previous solo albums, God Is Saying This To You and Constant Hitmaker, on Mexican Summer and Woodsist, respectively. He plays solo shows as well as shows with a backing band called The Violators.
